In this episode, Garland Nixon and Joti Brar discuss the fundamental instability of the present system. Why can’t capitalism solve the simplest of problems? Could we really be looking at the final period of its disintegration and decay?
If so, the question for every one of us is: which side do we want to be on? The side that clings on to an illusory ‘stability’ by helping the imperialists survive at the expense of the poor and exploited, or the side that joins the mass of humanity in working to push the whole lot over the precipice and into the dustbin of history where it belongs?
Topics covered include: capitalist contradictions and production for profit, overproduction crisis on a global scale and the consequent drive to war; the blood price paid by working people over the last century of capitalist ‘re-stabilisation’; how the spirit of the USSR lives on in a myriad ways; why the science of Marxism cannot be killed; how workers in the west are bribed to look the other way while imperialist crimes are committed; how imperialist superexploitation creates the forces that will end the system; why workers in the west need to work together with the oppressed masses abroad; and why ‘freedom’ for even relatively well-off workers under capitalist rule is largely illusory.
