National March for Palestine

The Palestinian struggle is advancing daily and has brought many advanced elements of the British working class out in solidarity. We need to take advantage of this situation, not only to be a visible lodestone to these advanced workers, but also to get our vital analysis in their hands. Therefore we are calling on comrades to come to London for a concerted CPGB-ML presence. This allows us to not only hold stalls as local comrades routinely do, but to have a presence with banners on the march, run a loudspeaker system, and more. May Day: International Workers’ Day

Join the CPGB-ML’s militant contingent to mark International Workers’ Day in the streets of London. Wear red, carry a party flag, and show your support for the struggling workers and oppressed peoples of the world. This system isn’t working for us; it’s time for it to go! The demonstration will be forming up all morning on Clerkenwell Green and will leave the square around midday, marching to Trafalgar Square, where our contingent will hold a mini rally of our own next to the party’s stall.

Burston strike school rally

Our party will have a book stall all day at this year's Burston school strike rally. Talking to us in person is the best way to understand out what makes our approach to politics different from the rest of the self-identifying 'left'. We also have a wide range of literature on every topic of essential importance to the working class. In particular, pick up a copy of our essential guide to the present situation: . ------------------------------- The strike, which ran from 1914 through to 1939, was led by schoolchildren in response to the wrongful dismissal of two teachers at the village of Burston's school. Tom Higson, one of the teachers, was sacked in retaliation for organising local agricultural labourers. The teachers would go on to set up a school ran on donations which effectively replaced education in the village through the duration of the strike.

Our party will have a book stall all day at this year's Wigan Diggers festival. Talking to us in person is the best way to understand out what makes our approach to politics different from the rest of the self-identifying 'left'. In particular, pick up a copy of our essential guide to the present situation: . ------------------------------- The Diggers were a group that was organised in the aftermath of the English Revolution (aka the English civil war) to represent the voice of the common people, and especially that of the propertyless poor. Led by Gerrard Winstanley, the group was also known as the ‘True Levellers’ to distinguish them from ‘The Levellers’, who, while seeking equality before the law and an extension of the right to vote for most men, did not support the abolition of private property and common ownership of the land. The Diggers’ nickname came from their belief that the land should be available to every person to dig and sow, so that everyone, rich or poor, could live, grow and eat by the sweat of their own brows, as according to them: “The earth was made to be a common treasury for all.” The Diggers were a movement before their time, but their principled defence of the poor and their championing of ideals that also underpin communism – that every person should work and every worker should share the wealth of society's labour – have inspired workers since the earliest days of the socialist movement in Britain.
