The greatest danger the world is now faced with is the high-handedness and arbitrariness of the United States and its vassal forces, which are shaking international peace and stability at the base.
The USA’s unilateral and unfair cold war mentality and its bloc-forming external policy make are transforming the structure of international relations into the one of a new cold war, and they are straining politico-military situations with each passing day, spawning new and knotty problems all over the world.
Looking back, we can see that the outbreak of two rounds of world war, which brought horrendous calamities and pain to humanity, originated from the greed of imperialism. Likewise, all the wars, big and small, of the last century are related, without exception, to the moves of the imperialists to interfere in the internal affairs of others.
In particular, the air war conducted by Nato against Yugoslavia at the end of the last century brought to light the extent of US and western hypocrisy regarding their much-touted ‘global peace and stability’, ‘territorial integrity’ and ‘safeguarding of sovereignty’, exposing in all its nakedness who is the real destroyer of international peace and stability.
The Iraq war, the Afghan war and other ‘colour revolutions’ that brought tragedy in the 21st century clearly substantiate the fact that the USA and the west continue to follow the policy of hegemony by fair means or foul.
The present international order shows that it has become an immutable law that seeds of discord are sown in every region and country where the USA intervenes, and that relations between states deteriorate accordingly.
The root cause of the Ukrainian crisis lies in the high-handedness and arbitrariness of the USA, which has used unilateral sanctions and pressure while pursuing global hegemony and military supremacy in disregard of the legitimate demand of Russia that its security should be respected.
It is not without reason that international media and experts comment that a contributing factor to the Ukrainian crisis is the imbalance of power in Europe resulting from the unilateral expansion of Nato, which presents a grave threat to the national security of Russia.
The USA embellishes its own interference in the internal affairs of other countries as a ‘righteous’ stance that will somehow bring peace and stability to the world, while denouncing the self-defensive measures taken by other countries to ensure their own national security as ‘injustices’ and ‘provocations’. This is typical of the arrogance of the USA and its blatant double standards.
But gone are the days when the USA reigned supreme.
The USA, seeing the trend of the present times, should no longer resort to the kind of high-handed and arbitrary actions that disturb international peace and stability.
