On Saturday 24 June, the CPGB-ML will be holding a book launch event in London for Neo-nazi Nato’s Proxy War Against Russia by Giles Shorter – a brilliant blow by blow account of every important development in Ukraine over the last ten years.
2.00pm on Saturday 24 June
Saklatvala Hall, Southall, London, UB2 5AA
The conflict in Ukraine did not start in February 2022; it started a long while before. The 2014 Maidan coup installed a fascist government led by the followers of WW2 Nazi collaborator Stepan Bandera.
This coup was actually the first blow in the long fostered but yet-to-be declared war against Russia.
Ever since 2014, the Ukrainian military, backed by the fascist Azov battalions, has been bombarding the Donbass republics. In the eight years to February 2022, this shelling had killed 14,000 people, overwhelmingly civilians, while CIA-backed militia were terrorising the resistant population all over Ukraine on a daily basis.
The war going on in Ukraine today is not between Ukraine and Russia. It is a proxy war waged by the neo-nazi Nato alliance, which wants regime change in Russia in order to loot that country’s vast resources. Faced with this threat to its very existence, Russia has had little choice but to resort to force, with the twin purposes of denazifying and demilitarising Ukraine.
In this war, workers and all of progressive humanity must support Russia, which is waging a heroic fight against the combined forces of imperialism.
Join us for the launch of our vitally important new book on the subject, including presentations and time for audience discussion.
