The more people are prepared to take real personal risks in order to tell the truth, the harder it will be for the ruling class to succeed in its efforts to crush dissent and remove our right to speak out against the genocidal war machine.

A high-profile interim hearing tribunal has ruled that no professional restrictions should be placed on Dr Rameh Aladwan on the basis of her public statements and activism in support of Palestinian liberation and against genocidal zionism.

Dr Aladwan, like our own comrade Dr Ranjeet Brar, was reported to her hospital and to the General Medical Council (GMC) for supposed ‘antisemitism’ and unfitness to practice medicine. The complaint did not come from patients, but from zionist lobby groups, which complained to the GMC and to the north London Whittington hospital where Dr Aladwan works as a trainee trauma and orthopaedic surgeon.

Without apparently noticing that there was not a shred of evidence to back up the assertion that Dr Aladwan is a racist and a danger to her patients, the Whittington’s management immediately suspended her and the GMC launched an investigation. The GMC had attempted to suspend Dr Aladwan’s practice while its investigations were being carried out, leading to the hearing on Thursday 25 September at the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS).

At the hearing, Dr Aladwan was acquitted on all counts and the GMC, whose investigation remains ongoing, was denied the right to suspend her in the meantime. Solicitor Jahad Rahman greeted the tribunal’s findings as “a victory for those that oppose the actions of the Israeli state in Gaza and free speech.

“We are deeply concerned that the GMC chose to investigate Dr Aladwan’s fitness to practise medicine simply because she spoke out against apartheid and injustice in Palestine. It is clear that this process was driven by pressure from pro-Israeli lobby groups, and was part of a wider, unacceptable attempt to suppress pro-Palestinian advocacy.”

While the case is by no means over, this is a landmark ruling in pushing back against the weaponisation of ‘antisemitism’ charges, which are being used across the NHS to suppress speech in favour of Palestine and to persecute those who are in any way active against the Gaza genocide – a horrific crime that has been aptly described by independent journalist Kit Klarenberg as a “televised holocaust”.

Dr Aladwan is helping to turn the tables on the zionist narrative inside the NHS in the same way that Professor David Miller’s employment tribunal against his sacking by Bristol university did in the world of academia.

The ruling class’s campaign to criminalise opposition to zionist Israel and suppress information about its crimes in Gaza is being spearheaded in areas such as academia, education, healthcare and other areas of public service provision. These are influential arenas in which the government has direct influence, and from where successful models of employee control can be rolled out across the rest of society.

Because of its increasing desperation to stem the rising revolt, the government is not going to be put off easily. It is incumbent on more people to stand up as Dr Brar, Dr Aladwan and others have done in order that the next phase of attack should be likewise repelled.

On hearing the news of Dr Aladwan’s tribunal acquittal, health secretary Wes Streeting, a notorious Labour lickspittle of the imperialist war machine, did his best to reassure his zionist backers, saying: “I have no confidence in the ability of our medical regulation system to keep patients safe and I am taking urgent advice on next steps.”

We congratulate Dr Aladwan on her fortitude in standing her ground and refusing to apologise for crimes she has not committed – apologies she will no doubt have been urged to make for the sake of protecting her career. By standing up against this intimidation she is helping to turn the tide of the determined witch hunt that has been launched by the imperialists (via their zionist attack-dogs) not only in the NHS but across British society.

Dr Aladwan stands firm

The following statement was posted on Twitter by Dr Aladwan on 26 September following her success at the tribunal.

We would only add that the ultimate perpetrators of the crimes being perpetrated by the zionist state are Israel’s creators, funders and arms-length directors in London and Washington. Zionist jews in Israel and elsewhere are a proxy army that was created by their activities and which serves their interests.

British and US imperialism not only created the conditions for the Palestinian holocaust, they not only facilitate Israeli impunity in the international area, but their armed forces and advisers of various kinds are active participants in zionist operations.

The complaint filed by the malicious and unhinged UK ‘Israeli’ jewish lobby (445 pages) with my medical regulator targeted five main topics.

My response was as follows:

1. On ‘terrorism’

I support the Palestinian right to resistance, including armed struggle – a right enshrined in international law. I am legally entitled to refuse to condemn this right or any proscribed groups. Hamas should be de-proscribed.

2. On jewish supremacy

It is synonymous with zionism. Identifying it as such names the oppressive system, its direct perpetrators, and its beneficiaries: jews.

3. On ‘antisemitism’

The term is a misnomer. It’s identity theft. Most jews are not Semites. Palestinians are the Semites. A more accurate term is ‘anti-jewish hatred’ (an irrational hatred of jews for being jews), which is also irrelevant here, as the central issue is the holocaust being perpetrated against the Palestinians.

4. On jewish extremism and terrorism

It is legitimate to identify and condemn jewish extremism and terrorism. World Jewry remains largely in support of jewish supremacy (zionism), terrorism and extremism, even after nearly two years of the holocaust largely perpetrated by ‘Israeli’ jews and the ‘jewish state’.

5. On calling for ‘Israel’ to no longer exist

This is protected legal and political speech. No ‘state’ has an inherent ‘right to exist’, especially one that is genocidal. There is no right for jews to have their own ‘state’ simply by virtue of their faith.

We must operate without fear. We must name the root cause and identify the criminals. Palestinians are bravely resisting with their lives. The least we can do is resist with our words, uphold the principles of liberation (thawabet), and speak the full truth.

The jewish lobby and jewish supremacists need to have some shame. While Palestinians are being kidnapped, tortured, murdered, starved, raped and burned alive by ‘Israeli’ jews – they continue to play victim and cry over our words and activism that are rooted in justice, morality and humanity.

This is not about jewish feelings or tears. This is about genocide caused by jewish supremacy, extremism, and unadulterated terrorism.

Free Palestine.
